These Terms & Conditions (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of ScholarPilot (the “Platform”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), operated from the Federal Republic of Nigeria. By creating an account, making a payment, or otherwise using the Platform, you (the “User”, “Student”, or “you”) confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not register for or use the Platform.
ScholarPilot is an academic support and supervision-assistance platform. We provide guidance, structure, mentorship, templates, roadmaps, feedback, document review, mock-defense practice, and related services to assist students with their academic projects, dissertations, and theses. The Platform is an independent service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any university, college, examination body, or academic institution.
You acknowledge and agree that:
You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of the Platform and of any materials, guidance, drafts, or work products complies with the rules, regulations, and academic-integrity and assessment policies of your institution and of any applicable body. You agree that:
Mentors, reviewers, and other personnel are engaged by the Platform to deliver the service. We may, at our discretion, assign, reassign, or substitute personnel at any time without notice. No direct contractual relationship is created between you and any individual mentor; your agreement is with the Platform.
All Platform content — including our software, templates, roadmaps, checklists, methodologies, and branding — is and remains our property and is protected by applicable law. You retain ownership of original content you submit, and you grant us a non-exclusive licence to use it solely to provide the service to you. You may not copy, resell, redistribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the Platform.
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Platform, its owner, operators, mentors, and staff from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or connected with your use of the Platform, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or of the rights or academic policies of any third party or institution.
We aim to keep the Platform available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service, and perform maintenance, at any time without liability.
We may suspend or terminate your account or access at our discretion, including for breach of these Terms, suspected fraud, abusive conduct, or non-payment. Termination for breach does not entitle you to any refund.
We process the personal and project information you provide in order to deliver the service. By using the Platform you consent to such processing. We take reasonable measures to protect your data but cannot guarantee absolute security.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always the one published on the Platform. Your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute shall first be pursued in good faith through negotiation; failing resolution, it shall be submitted to the competent courts or to arbitration in Nigeria, and you submit to that jurisdiction.
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Platform and supersede any prior understanding.
